Our Story
Dai Viet Painting Company was founded with a passion for preserving and promoting traditional Vietnamese handicraft art. More than 15 years ago, our founders began exploring the unique artistic potential of rice grains – one of the most iconic symbols of Vietnamese culture and agriculture.
What started as a small artistic experiment gradually developed into a specialized craft focused on handmade rice paintings. By carefully roasting natural rice grains to achieve different tones and colors, Vietnamese artisans are able to transform a simple agricultural product into meaningful works of art.
Over the years, Dai Viet Painting Company has continuously improved techniques and expanded its collection of rice artworks. Our paintings now include traditional rice paintings, colored rice paintings, landscape artworks, portraits, and custom designs created for customers from around the world.
Today, our mission remains the same: to share the beauty of Vietnamese culture through handcrafted rice paintings and to keep this unique art form alive for future generations.

Our Craftsmanship
How Rice Paintings Are Made
Rice paintings are created through a meticulous handmade process that requires patience, skill, and artistic precision.
The process typically includes several important steps:
1. Selecting High-Quality Rice
Only carefully selected rice grains are used to ensure durability and consistent texture for the artwork.
2. Roasting the Rice
Rice grains are roasted at different temperatures to produce a wide range of natural shades, from light yellow to dark brown. These natural tones form the color palette of traditional rice paintings.
3. Designing the Artwork
Artists first sketch the image on a wooden or composite board to create a guideline for arranging the rice grains.
4. Hand Placement of Rice Grains
Each grain of rice is carefully placed by hand using special tools and adhesives. This step requires great patience and artistic accuracy.
5. Finishing and Framing
Once the artwork is completed, the painting is sealed and framed to protect it from environmental factors and to ensure long-lasting durability.
Through this handcrafted process, every rice painting becomes a unique and meaningful piece of Vietnamese art.
